Cause

After completely unwinding the ribbon to the ribbon rewind paper core, the ribbon was inserted again to use the unused side.

The ribbon gets thermally and mechanically heavily stressed during operation. Do NOT use ribbons a second time!  The print result is usually unclean and barcodes are poor or not readable at all.

Troubleshooting

Insert a new ribbon roll.
