Cause

Ribbon rewind mechanism defective (slip clutch), mainly on Eltron printers

Troubleshooting

- check if thermodirect mode has been activated

- check whether the ribbon is correctly locked on the unwinding and rewinding unit

- In case of hardware causes (e.g. slip clutch defective) the printer must be sent in for maintenance.
